Heavy smoke poured from the Flamingo Garage at Miami International Airport Wednesday morning after four vehicles caught fire between the first and second floors. The fire, reported at 11:35 a.m., also damaged eight nearby vehicles.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Acting North District Chief Rogelio Vandamas confirmed the fire was swiftly controlled, with no injuries reported. Crews worked on ventilation to clear the smoke from the garage.

Witnesses described chaos, with one woman unable to reach her car due to the thick smoke. All affected vehicles were gas-powered, and officials are contacting the owners.

Fire investigators are determining the cause and assessing potential structural damage. The Flamingo Garage was closed for hours but reopened in the evening, with some ramps remaining closed. Other airport services briefly affected were quickly restored.
