Hallandale Beach police responded to a disturbing domestic violence incident that resulted in the tragic death of Delfina “Lily” Perez, a 41-year-old pregnant mother of two.
After Perez failed to pick up her children from daycare, concerned family members alerted authorities. Upon entering the home, police discovered Perez with severe injuries and her partner, Victor Chavez, unresponsive. Chavez later confessed to the murder and attempted suicide.
Neighbors described Chavez as having a troubled past and exhibiting signs of mental instability. The children are now in the care of relatives, and a GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support their future.
This heartbreaking incident underscores the urgent need to address domestic violence and mental health issues.
