A Department of Homeland Security (DHS) operation in Miami led to the arrest of 14 individuals in South Florida, including suspected members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua. The three-day operation was conducted under the Laken Riley Act, a law requiring the detention of unauthorized immigrants accused of theft and violent crimes.

The Laken Riley Act was signed into law by President Donald Trump in response to the tragic 2024 murder of Laken Riley, a nursing student killed by an undocumented immigrant. Her killer is now serving a life sentence.

Authorities continue to crack down on criminal organizations operating within the U.S., emphasizing stricter immigration enforcement.
