Antisemitic Vandalism Strikes Hallandale Beach Official

Hallandale Beach Vice Mayor Michelle Lazarow recently became a victim of antisemitic vandalism. After the Gaza cease-fire, she displayed a yard sign reading “Bring Them Home Now!” with a stylized Israeli flag. The sign was stolen in broad daylight, captured on her Ring camera. The thief? Her neighbor, who placed it in his car and drove off.

Outraged, Lazarow noted, “You don’t have the right to take someone’s property regardless of your beliefs. That’s theft.” She sees the act as part of a national trend of vandalism targeting pro-Israel signs and hostage images since Hamas’s October 7, 2023, invasion of Israel.

Despite the theft, Lazarow remains vocal. A new sign hangs in her window, and she wears dog tags in support of hostages. She suspects the thief also sent her propaganda texts accusing Israel of genocide.

Lazarow plans to press charges, sending a message that Hallandale Beach won’t tolerate such acts. The city has an ordinance targeting antisemitic vandalism, and charges could escalate to a hate crime.

“This kind of behavior won’t intimidate us,” Lazarow said, reaffirming her commitment to justice and standing against hate.
