What’s Open and Closed on July 4th in South Florida

As South Florida gears up for Independence Day celebrations on Friday, July 4, 2025, here’s a guide to which stores and services will be open or closed.

Grocery Stores:

  • Open: Publix, Walmart (until 11 p.m.), Trader Joe’s (until 5 p.m.), Target, Sam’s Club (limited hours), Whole Foods (check local hours), Winn-Dixie, Presidente Supermarket, ALDI (limited hours), Milam’s Market (until 4 p.m.).

  • Closed: Costco

Pharmacies:

  • Open: Walgreens (pharmacy hours vary), CVS (pharmacy may vary), Navarro.

  • Closed: Publix pharmacy.

Retail Stores:
Most major retailers and malls will be open, though hours may vary by location.

  • Open: Target, Walmart, Home Depot, IKEA (10 a.m.–6 p.m.), Apple (10 a.m.–7 p.m.), Barnes & Noble (check local hours), Dollar General, Family Dollar, HomeGoods, JCPenney (11 a.m.–8 p.m.), Kohl’s, Lowe’s, Macy’s, Marshalls, Michaels, Menards, Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, Petco, PetSmart, Staples, T.J. Maxx.

  • Closed: Costco.

Public Services:

  • Closed: Miami-Dade and Broward courts, schools, libraries, and county offices. No garbage collection in Miami-Dade; check locally in Broward.

  • Open (Modified Schedules): Metrorail, Metromover, and Metrobus will run on weekend or Sunday schedules. Broward Transit will follow a Sunday schedule.

  • Parks: Open in both counties, except Deerfield Island Park and Markham Target Range.
