Tyreek Hill Faces Civil Trial Over Influencer’s Broken Leg

Former Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill appeared in a Broward County courtroom Wednesday as jury selection began in a civil lawsuit brought by Instagram influencer Sophie Hall, who claims Hill intentionally broke her leg in 2023.

Hall, who has over 2.3 million Instagram followers, says she initially met Hill after purchasing a ticket for her son to attend his football camp in June 2023. Hill later invited her back to his Southwest Ranches home and arranged her travel to visit approximately eleven days after the camp.

During what the suit describes as a football lesson, Hall claims Hill was knocked backward and “became enraged,” shoving her with enough force to severely fracture her right leg — an injury requiring surgery with metal implants. She says she continues to experience pain today and is seeking both compensatory and punitive damages.

Hill’s defense denies he caused the injury, contending Hall was herself negligent and had voluntarily assumed the risks of participating in football drills.

Judge David Haimes briefly outlined Hill’s position as jury selection got underway. Opening statements were expected Thursday, with the trial estimated to last two weeks.

Hill, 32, was released by the Dolphins in February after four seasons and remains a free agent.
