Thanksgiving 2025: What’s Open and Closed

Thanksgiving brings family time, gratitude, and plenty of turkey — but it also changes store hours across the country. While federal offices, courts, and post offices close for the holiday, several retail and grocery chains operate on modified schedules.

Open on Thanksgiving:

• Bass Pro Shops: 9 a.m.–6 p.m.

• Big Lots: 7 a.m.–Midnight

• CVS: 9 a.m.–2 p.m.

• Dollar General: 7 a.m.–10 p.m.

• Family Dollar: 8 a.m.–6 p.m.

• Kroger: 7 a.m.–4 p.m.

• Whole Foods: Modified hours

• Sedano’s: 7 a.m.–6 p.m.

• Presidente Supermarket: 8 a.m.–7 p.m.

• 7-Eleven & Wawa: Open 24/7

• Walgreens: Only 24-hour stores open

Closed on Thanksgiving:
ALDI, Athleta, Banana Republic, Best Buy, Costco, Gap, Home Depot, HomeGoods, JCPenney, IKEA, Kohl’s, Lowe’s, Macy’s, Marshalls, Michaels, Nordstrom, Navarro Pharmacy, Old Navy, PetSmart, Publix, Sam’s Club, T.J. Maxx, Target, Trader Joe’s, Ulta Beauty, UPS, Walmart, Winn-Dixie.

Most malls shut down for the day, preparing instead for the Black Friday rush.
