New surveillance footage shows a woman running for her life and a suspect fleeing after an alleged kidnapping and sexual battery early Saturday on Miami Beach.

Police say 28-year-old Alix Louis Innocent faces charges including armed sexual battery and kidnapping following the incident on Ocean Drive. According to investigators, the victim and her fiancé were leaving a nightclub when Innocent punched the fiancé, knocking him unconscious.

Innocent then allegedly told the woman she was a “witness to a murder” and forced her to go with him to a nearby rooftop area. There, he threatened to kill her if she did not comply with his demands, claiming he had a gun. Though no weapon was displayed, the victim told police she feared for her life and complied.

The woman managed to escape by biting the suspect and ran from the building screaming for help. She was later treated at a hospital. Her fiancé was also hospitalized with a head injury but survived.

Surveillance video captured the woman fleeing the scene naked and screaming, according to witnesses. Nearby hotel owner Mitch Novick said the footage includes audible cries for help.

Investigators say hours after the attack, Innocent returned to the area and posted videos on Instagram appearing to mock the incident. Police were able to identify and arrest him the following day.

At the time of arrest, officers found suspected mushrooms and marijuana in his backpack. Records show Innocent was on probation and had an active warrant for driving with a suspended license.

Miami Beach police said the suspect’s social media activity helped lead directly to his arrest.
