Grammy-nominated Canadian artist JP Saxe announced the cancellation of his upcoming tour after failing to sell enough tickets, despite a heartfelt plea to fans.
In late July, Saxe admitted on TikTok that if he didn’t sell around 20,000 tickets within 48 hours, the tour would be canceled. While fans responded by buying a few thousand more, the effort wasn’t enough.
“I’m beyond grateful,” Saxe said. “Those tickets reminded me that honesty and failure can be more powerful than the facade of success. But it wasn’t enough to save this tour. I’m really sorry.”
The singer, known for his global hit “If the World Was Ending” with Julia Michaels, has collaborated with stars like Sam Smith, H.E.R., and John Mayer. One of his canceled stops included ZeyZey Miami on October 14. Ticketmaster has confirmed refunds.
Saxe took the setback in stride: “I’m still embarrassed. But I’m also ambitious to make sure this never happens again. Until then, I’ll keep making the most honest music I can.”
