A Fort Lauderdale jeweler testified Wednesday in the $1 million fraud trial against singer Sean Kingston, claiming Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner, falsified a wire transfer and made false promises to expand his business.

Moshe Edery, the jeweler, said he trusted Kingston due to his celebrity status. In court, prosecutors played a voice memo where Kingston assured Edery, “I’m going to have you at all my video shoots and red carpets.” Another message from Kingston stated he was with Edery “for life.”

Days later, Turner allegedly sent a screenshot of a $285,000 wire transfer for an Audemars Piguet watch. When Edery checked with the bank, they told him the document was not authentic. “I’m being scammed,” he recalled thinking.

Edery, who gave Kingston the watch before receiving payment, claimed he was later fired, lost credibility, and was blacklisted in the industry. Kingston’s defense questioned why he didn’t seek employer approval, to which Edery responded that employees had access to the safe and routinely made deals.

Kingston was arrested in California in May 2024, while Turner was detained the same day at his Southwest Ranches mansion. Prosecutors allege that between October 2023 and March 2024, Kingston, Turner, and others defrauded multiple businesses, including jewelers, luxury car dealers, and high-end furniture companies, using fraudulent documents and fake wire transfers. The total losses exceeded $1 million.

Kingston, known for his 2007 hit “Beautiful Girls”, has worked with artists like Justin Bieber and Soulja Boy. Now, he faces serious legal consequences in a case that continues to unfold.
