Authorities are investigating the death of a passenger aboard the Carnival Horizon after the ship docked at PortMiami over the weekend. Carnival Cruise Line confirmed the guest died during the voyage but released no details on the cause.
The ship returned to Miami as scheduled, where FBI agents boarded to begin an investigation. The FBI confirmed its presence on the vessel but said the inquiry remains active.
The identity of the passenger has not been released.
Carnival said it is working closely with federal authorities and extended condolences to the guest’s family.
