A major law enforcement initiative called “Operation Dragon Eye” has led to the rescue of 60 missing children across Central Florida, officials announced Monday.

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier and U.S. Marshal William Berger shared the results of the sweeping operation during a news conference, praising the efforts of over 20 collaborating agencies. The rescued children ranged in age from 9 to 17 and were provided medical and psychological care following their recovery.

Authorities arrested eight suspects during the operation on charges including child endangerment, human trafficking, and drug-related offenses. “The real heroes behind this operation are the law enforcement professionals who built and executed this mission,” Uthmeier said. “As your Attorney General and a father of three, protecting children is my top priority.”

Florida Department of Law Enforcement Commissioner Mark Glass emphasized the message this sends to would-be offenders. “Sixty kids saved. That number alone should make it clear—Florida will never be a safe place for traffickers,” he stated.

The U.S. Marshal’s Office led the operation with legal support from Florida’s Office of Statewide Prosecution. All rescued children were debriefed and offered appropriate care and support. Authorities stress that the work is ongoing, and they remain committed to reuniting families and bringing perpetrators to justice.
