Nebraska Man Charged After Allegedly Kidnapping Florida Sisters He Met on Roblox

A 19-year-old Nebraska man is facing multiple felony charges after authorities say he kidnapped two teenage sisters in Florida following months of online communication through the gaming platform Roblox.

Hser Mu Lah Say was charged with two counts of kidnapping and two counts of interference with child custody, according to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office. The sisters, ages 12 and 14, were reported missing Saturday after last being seen in Indiantown.

Sheriff John Budensiek said investigators determined Say had been communicating with the girls since last summer. The conversations reportedly began on Roblox before moving to Snapchat. Authorities say Say then drove from Nebraska to Florida to take the girls.

A multi-state search involving local, state, and federal agencies ended Sunday when Georgia Highway Patrol stopped a vehicle believed to be carrying the sisters. The girls were found safe, and Say was taken into custody.

Sheriff Budensiek said additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation continues.

Roblox issued a statement calling the incident “deeply troubling” and said it is cooperating with law enforcement. The company highlighted recent safety measures, including mandatory age verification for chat access, content monitoring, and limits on communication between age groups.

The case adds to growing scrutiny of Roblox, which has faced lawsuits and criminal investigations alleging the platform has failed to adequately protect minors. In October 2025, Florida’s attorney general issued criminal subpoenas to the company, and in January, Roblox implemented facial-scan age verification for chat features.

The case echoes a prior South Florida incident in which a man received a 25-year prison sentence for sexually abusing a child he met through Roblox.
