A serious crash early Monday temporarily shut down all southbound lanes of the Palmetto Expressway at Okeechobee Road in Miami-Dade. Aerial footage showed two severely damaged vehicles being towed from the express lanes, which remained closed while main lanes began reopening later in the morning.
Officials have not yet confirmed the cause of the crash or whether there were any injuries. Drivers in the area were advised to avoid delays by using alternative routes like Florida’s Turnpike extension or Red Road.
This is a developing story; further updates will be released as information becomes available.
