Miami Model Seeks Bond in Boyfriend’s Fatal Stabbing Case

Courtney Clenney, a 28-year-old Miami social media model, appeared in court as her attorneys sought her release on bond. Clenney faces a second-degree murder charge in the April 2022 stabbing death of her boyfriend, Christian Obumseli, at their Edgewater condo.

Prosecutors described the couple’s relationship as turbulent, claiming Obumseli was a domestic violence victim. Clenney’s defense argued she acted in self-defense, stating she threw a knife at Obumseli to escape.

During the hearing, the defense presented a forensic pathologist and a knife-throwing demonstration using a pig carcass. The expert threw knives from five to six feet, with around half sticking in the carcass. This, they argued, supported Clenney’s claim that she threw the knife in self-defense.

However, prosecutors countered that Clenney initially told police she threw the knife from about 10 feet away, challenging the defense’s demonstration.

Clenney has remained in jail without bond since her arrest. The judge is set to rule on the bond request next month. At the time of the incident, Clenney, known online as Courtney Tailor, had over 2 million Instagram followers.
