Miami-Dade Corrections Officer Arrested in Alleged Battery of Inmate

A corrections officer with Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Department has been arrested in connection with an alleged battery of an inmate, officials confirmed Monday.

Myth Louis-Jeune, 36, faces a battery charge related to an incident that allegedly occurred around March 1, 2023. Court records did not provide additional details about the circumstances of the alleged assault.

In a statement, the department said the arrest followed an internal investigation into “alleged staff misconduct involving an in-custody inmate,” conducted in coordination with other law enforcement agencies.

Officials emphasized that the arrest reflects the department’s commitment to accountability and transparency. They added that the actions of one employee do not represent the conduct of the broader corrections workforce.
