A horrifying crash in Flagami left two women injured after a police officer’s vehicle collided with another car and struck them on the sidewalk Saturday evening.
According to the Miami Police Department, the crash occurred near Northwest Seventh Street and 47th Avenue. One of the victims remains in critical condition, while the other woman and the officer are in stable condition.
Cellphone footage captured the aftermath, showing officers performing CPR on one of the victims.
Joshua Reyes, who works at a nearby grocery store, described the chaotic scene. “We all saw her body. They were trying to resuscitate her. The bus station was destroyed. Police cars were coming in as fast as they could. It was a nightmare.”
Emergency responders rushed both women to the hospital. “Fire rescue immediately responded on scene and were able to transport them,” said Miami Police Officer Kiara Delva.
By Sunday night, flowers were left at the site where police had provided first aid. A group of people, believed to be family members, visited the scene but declined to speak.
Authorities confirmed that the officer involved was not responding to a call at the time of the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
