Massive Crackdown: Over Two Dozen Arrested in Miami-Dade ATV Takeover Operation

Law enforcement agencies across South Florida carried out a coordinated crackdown on an illegal ATV “ride out” event in Miami-Dade County, resulting in more than two dozen arrests and the seizure of numerous vehicles.

Authorities said the event, promoted online as the “GVO 2026 Ride Out,” was planned as a large-scale gathering from Friday through Sunday. The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office Homeland Security Bureau monitored social media and intelligence ahead of time, allowing agencies to prepare a targeted response.

On Saturday, officers began actively intercepting ATV and dirt bike riders to prevent major roadways from being overtaken — a growing public safety concern tied to these events.

Multiple departments joined the operation, including police from Miami, Miami Beach, Miami Gardens, Miramar, Hollywood, Pembroke Pines, and the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

Officials established a centralized command center that monitored police communications, live camera feeds, and online activity in real time. This intelligence-sharing effort helped coordinate enforcement across jurisdictions.

The results were significant: 18 felony arrests, seven misdemeanor arrests, 27 citations issued, and 23 ATVs and dirt bikes towed. Authorities also recovered three firearms during the operation.

Officials emphasized that these coordinated efforts are aimed at preventing dangerous, unsanctioned street takeovers that put both participants and the public at risk.
