A disturbing incident in a Miami neighborhood was caught on video, showing a man allegedly threatening a stray dog and a family with a machete.
The encounter began when the man attempted to throw a rock at the dog, known locally as “Lucky.” According to a woman identified as Ashley, the situation quickly escalated when the man returned holding a machete and shouting threats.
Ashley’s mother captured the confrontation on video, where the man can be heard saying he intended to kill the dog.
Fearing for their safety, the family called police. Authorities later responded, and the suspect was reportedly arrested that same night. Officials have not yet released full details.
Ashley said the video evidence was crucial. Without it, she believes the situation could have turned out very differently.
Despite the frightening experience, the family focused on protecting the animal. They took responsibility for caring for the stray dog until help arrived.
“You can’t just ignore something like that,” Ashley said, comparing the situation to helping a vulnerable person in need.
The dog was eventually rescued by the Rescue Dog Network and is now being placed into a safe foster home.
The incident highlights both the dangers of sudden violence and the impact of community members stepping in to protect those who cannot protect themselves.
