Florida’s Take: Approval Ratings for Trump and DeSantis Revealed

A recent Mason-Dixon Polling and Strategy survey of 625 Florida voters provides insight into how residents feel about Governor Ron DeSantis and former President Donald Trump.

DeSantis’ Approval Ratings

Governor DeSantis holds a 53% approval rating, with 42% disapproving and 5% undecided. His ratings have dropped from 59% two years ago but remain consistent with pre-reelection figures. Approval is highest in North Florida (63%) and lowest in Southeast Florida (42%), where disapproval stands at 53%.

By race, 57% of white and Hispanic voters approve of DeSantis, while only 16% of Black voters do. Among men, he has 59% approval compared to 48% among women.

Trump’s Approval Ratings

Trump’s approval rating in Florida has risen to 52%, up from 47% at the end of his first term. His disapproval sits at 44%. Like DeSantis, Trump is less favored in Southeast Florida (43% approval, 55% disapproval) but is strongest in North Florida (63% approval).

By race, 57% of white, 53% of Hispanic, and only 16% of Black voters approve of Trump. His support is higher among men (57%) than women (48%).

Casey DeSantis vs. Byron Donalds?

With speculation about the 2026 Florida governor’s race, 264 Republican voters were polled on Rep. Byron Donalds and Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis. Casey led with a 53% favorable rating compared to Donalds’ 48%. However, 46% of voters had no opinion on Donalds, and 38% were unsure about Casey.

This poll highlights shifting political sentiments in Florida as both Trump and DeSantis navigate their futures.
