Police in Brevard County, Florida, are searching for the owner of over 55 pounds of cocaine, worth approximately $1.7 million, discovered along the Atlantic coastline. The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office shared on social media that the 25 kilos of cocaine likely “fell off the back of someone’s boat” and were found by a fisherman on a beach. The fisherman then contacted authorities.
Sheriff Wayne Ivey posted a lighthearted message on Facebook, inviting the owner to claim the drugs at the sheriff’s office in Rockledge, saying there would be “no strings attached.” Ivey jokingly added that the department would keep the cocaine “in a secure area” and offer the owner a “staycation” at the “Ivey’s Iron Bar Lodge,” referencing the Brevard County Jail.
Anyone with information about the cocaine or the investigation is encouraged to contact the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office at 321-264-5201.
