Florida Deputy Resigns After Crash Involving Pornography Viewing

Lake County Deputy Tristan Macomber resigned after an internal investigation revealed he was looking at pornography when he crashed into a car on Nov. 6, 2024, according to WESH.

Body camera footage showed Macomber driving and then slamming into a vehicle stopped for a school bus. He initially blamed brake failure, stating, “My brakes locked up.”

However, the investigation found Macomber holding a phone while driving. Initially claiming he was checking text messages, Macomber later admitted to viewing inappropriate pictures. He confessed to falsifying details in his original statement, acknowledging the photos were the primary cause of the crash.

Facing termination, Macomber chose to resign.
