Rapper and television personality Flavor Flav has offered to host a celebration for the U.S. women’s hockey team following their gold medal victory at the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics.

In a social media statement, Flav — whose real name is William Jonathan Drayton Jr. — invited the team to Las Vegas for what he described as a “real celebration,” after the players declined an invitation to the White House due to scheduling conflicts.

A spokesperson for USA Hockey said the athletes were grateful for the recognition but unable to attend the White House event because of academic and professional commitments following the Games.

Flavor Flav’s offer remains open, and he said he is flexible with dates, except for mid-March, when he will celebrate his birthday.

Flav has become increasingly involved in Olympic sports, serving as a sponsor and promoter for U.S. bobsled, skeleton, and water polo teams in recent years. He has publicly encouraged other celebrities to support Olympic athletes, noting that many competitors struggle with funding despite representing the country on the world stage.

It is not yet known whether the women’s hockey team will accept the Las Vegas invitation.
