Atlanta Falcons rookie James Pearce Jr. was arrested in Doral on Saturday after police say he intentionally rammed a car driven by WNBA player Rickea Jackson twice and struck a police officer while attempting to flee.

According to police reports, the 22-year-old was booked on multiple felony charges, including aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated stalking, fleeing and eluding, aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, and resisting an officer without violence.

Jackson told officers she and Pearce dated for roughly three years and had recently ended their relationship. She said she blocked his phone number, but he continued contacting her through alternate numbers despite being told to stop.

On Saturday, Jackson reported that Pearce followed her in a white Lamborghini SUV as she drove toward her home. At a red light, she said he exited his vehicle and attempted to open her driver’s door. She drove away, but Pearce allegedly resumed pursuing her.

Police say Jackson reported Pearce intentionally rear-ending her vehicle. When she attempted to reach a police station, she said Pearce cut her off, blocked her path, and then collided head-on with her car.

Officers arrived to find Pearce outside the Lamborghini. When ordered to get on the ground, police say he reentered the vehicle, locked the door, and drove off, striking an officer in the knee during the escape.

Pearce later crashed at an intersection nearby, fled on foot, and was taken into custody following a brief struggle. He was transported to Jackson West Medical Center for evaluation before being booked into jail.

An attorney for Pearce released a statement maintaining his innocence and calling for a full investigation. A Miami-Dade judge set bond at $20,500 and ordered Pearce to have no contact with Jackson.

The Atlanta Falcons said they are aware of the arrest and are gathering information. Pearce was a 2025 first-round draft pick who led the team in sacks last season.
