A woman was hospitalized on Sunday afternoon after a dog attack in Fort Lauderdale. The incident occurred on Northeast 51st Street around 2 p.m.
Authorities responded to the scene and transported the woman to a local hospital. Her identity and condition remain undisclosed.
While the cause of the attack is still under investigation, officials confirmed that the dog or dogs involved belong to family members.
Later that evening, animal control and deputies removed what appeared to be a pit bull from the residence. This incident follows a recent dog attack in Deerfield Beach that injured an 11-year-old boy.
