Cruise Passengers Shaken After Water Slide Shatters

Passengers aboard Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas were stunned when part of a water slide shattered mid-ride in the Caribbean.

The incident occurred when acrylic glass on one of the six slides broke as an adult guest slid through. No one fell through, but the guest was injured and is in stable condition.

“I was on that slide 20 minutes before,” one passenger said. “It could’ve happened to us.”

Royal Caribbean closed the slide and launched an investigation, but passengers say the crew gave no official explanation onboard.

“I’ll never go on a ship slide again,” said passenger Sophia.
