Professional boxer Gervonta “Tank” Davis was arrested Wednesday in connection with an alleged domestic violence incident that occurred last year at a Miami Gardens gentlemen’s club, police said.

Miami Gardens Police announced that Davis, 31, was taken into custody without incident in Miami’s Design District by special investigations officers working alongside the U.S. Marshals fugitive task force. He faces charges of battery, false imprisonment and attempted kidnapping.

According to police, the incident occurred on October 27 at a club where the alleged victim was employed. Authorities are withholding the woman’s name and the name of the club for her safety.

Investigators say Davis allegedly grabbed the woman by the back of her head and throat, forcibly escorting her into a nearby parking garage. Police said he later released her, after which she ran to coworkers for help. The woman reportedly suffered bruising to her left arm.

Authorities said the woman had known Davis since 2022 and had been in an intimate relationship with him that ended approximately one month before the alleged incident. Surveillance video from the area is said to corroborate her account.

An arrest warrant was issued earlier this month, leading to Davis’s apprehension on Wednesday. Miami Gardens Police emphasized their commitment to protecting victims and holding offenders accountable.

Davis has previously faced multiple domestic violence-related allegations in South Florida. In July, he was accused of striking the mother of his children. He was also arrested in Broward County in 2022 in a separate case. Charges stemming from a 2020 incident in Coral Gables were later dropped.

Davis was booked into Miami-Dade County jail Wednesday afternoon. His attorneys have not yet commented publicly on the latest charges.
