Newly released police body camera footage shows former NFL star Antonio Brown handcuffed and detained following a shooting incident outside a celebrity boxing event in Miami last May. The video, released as part of court discovery, captures Brown seated in a police cruiser, complaining of injuries and repeatedly insisting he did nothing wrong.

Brown, 37, has pleaded not guilty to a second-degree attempted murder charge, which carries a potential 15-year prison sentence and a fine of up to $10,000. He has filed a motion to dismiss the charges under Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” law, arguing he acted in self-defense.

According to an arrest warrant, Brown allegedly grabbed a firearm from a security staffer after getting into a fistfight with Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu and fired two shots. Nantambu told police one bullet grazed his neck.

In the bodycam footage, Brown questions why he is in handcuffs, asks to use the bathroom, requests to call his mother, and asks officers to examine a cut on his knee. “I did nothing, brother,” he tells police.

Brown’s attorney disputes the arrest affidavit, claiming Brown used his own legally owned firearm and did not aim at anyone. The defense motion alleges Nantambu had a history of threatening Brown, including a prior altercation at the 2023 Rolling Loud festival and a 2022 arrest in Dubai for stealing Brown’s jewelry.

The filing claims Nantambu waited outside the boxing event after seeing Brown livestreaming, then attacked him as he exited. Brown allegedly feared for his life after being assaulted and fired two warning shots away from Nantambu to escape.

Police did not immediately arrest Brown, initially failing to identify a victim. Nantambu formally identified Brown as the shooter days later. Brown has since maintained he acted in self-defense and was targeted for robbery.
