Greater Fort Lauderdale is a seaside paradise in the center of the Gold Coast that stretches 23 miles along the Atlantic Ocean. The city is situated halfway between Miami and Palm Beach and can be accessed via I-95 or US-1. Traveling to Fort Lauderdale has never been easier thanks to the centralized and convenient location of its Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport, also known as FLL airport, is located in Broward County, Florida at the southern tip of the state. One of the world’s busiest airports is in Florida, it has become an international gateway and is ranked as the 13th busiest airport in the United States. It has over 700 daily flights that offer non-stop service to 135 domestic and international destinations. It is well-known for its free wireless internet access in all terminals, which makes it an excellent hub for both business and leisure travelers alike.
The airport has 4 terminals, with Terminal 1 (Yellow) being the main hub for international visitors and serving passengers who mostly travel on Air France and other international airlines. Terminal 2 (Red) houses a Delta Air Lines Sky Club that frequent flyers can utilize to relax or dine before their flight. Terminal 3 (Purple) is the base for JetBlue airline and offers domestic flights as well as connections to other regions in the world. Spirit Airlines operates out of Terminal 4 (Green) and is the only airline to do so.
When you’re looking to travel from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport, no matter what your budget or time constraints may be, you will have many options available to help facilitate your trip. Some of these options include taxi services, rental cars, and shuttles. The Tri-Rail is a commuter train that connects the airport to Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach County. You also have the option of taking a Broward County Transit Bus that can be found at the Rental Car Center, Stop 7.
Taxis and Rideshare services like Uber are available at each of the airport terminals. For an added level of convenience, you’ll find kiosks on the outside of these terminals that will allow you to book a ride. Luxury sedans for rent are also available at the airport. Shuttlefare.com offers cheap airport shuttle services to Fort Lauderdale airport, as well as to over 50 other cities. They offer reservations with the Blue Van, SuperShuttle, and GO Airport shuttle.
Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport does not have any onsite hotels, but you could find several nearby hotels that offer shuttle services within a fifteen-minute drive radius. They are located in both Pompano Beach to the Northwest and Hollywood to the East.
