Miami Emerges as One of the Priciest Host Cities of the 2026 World Cup

As the FIFA World Cup passes its halfway mark, Miami has earned a less welcome distinction: one of the most expensive host cities of the tournament.

Secondary market ticket prices for matches in the Miami area have soared into the thousands, while parking near the stadium has reached as high as 250 dollars, according to local reporting. The numbers have startled even longtime soccer fans used to premium pricing for major events.

Demand has been driven by South Florida’s role as a marquee venue. The region is hosting seven matches, and a study commissioned by FIFA estimates the games could deliver roughly 1.3 billion dollars in economic impact across the area.

At the heart of the fan experience is the FIFA Fan Festival at Bayfront Park, which has transformed more than 436,000 square feet of downtown waterfront into what organizers describe as a second stadium. The site can hold up to 30,000 visitors and has become a daily gathering point for supporters from around the world.

Local leaders assembled a host committee drawing from South Florida’s sports, business, government, and tourism sectors to oversee funding, regional promotion, fan experience, and community engagement throughout the tournament.

With 54 of the 104 matches now complete, organizers say the busiest stretch still lies ahead, with crowds and prices alike expected to climb as the tournament moves toward its final rounds.
