A South Florida nurse has been charged with three counts of vehicular homicide in connection with a November 2024 crash that killed three Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office motorcycle deputies.

Corrine Adrianna Blue, 31, had just completed a 12-hour overnight shift at Cleveland Clinic in Weston when she struck Corporal Luis Paez, Deputy Ralph “Butch” Waller, and Deputy Ignacio “Dan” Diaz on Southern Boulevard near Lion Country Safari. The deputies were on the shoulder checking for speeders when Blue’s SUV veered off the road.

Blue told investigators she swerved to avoid a slowing car ahead and never saw the officers. She said she was driving within the posted 55 mph limit and was not tired or impaired. Blood tests confirmed no drugs or alcohol.

But vehicle data told a different story: Blue was traveling between 80 and 82 mph in the seconds before impact. Witnesses reported seeing her weaving through traffic and switching lanes without signaling. Cell phone records showed she had been awake for approximately 18 of the 24 hours before the crash.

Blue had stopped at a McDonald’s shortly before the accident. Investigators noted that a human factors expert concluded the high-fat, high-carbohydrate meal may have induced what Blue herself described as “brain fog.”

Blue appeared before a judge Friday, who set her bond at $750,000.
