Miami is heading into one of its busiest weekends of the year, with five major events happening within miles of each other — and traffic is expected to be intense.
The biggest draw is the Ultra Music Festival, returning to Bayfront Park from Friday through Sunday and bringing hundreds of thousands of visitors downtown. At the same time, Latin rock band Maná will perform at the nearby Kaseya Center on Friday and Saturday nights, adding even more congestion to the same area.
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump is scheduled to speak Friday evening at the Faena Hotel in Miami Beach, which will trigger intermittent road closures and security disruptions across the beach.
Sports fans will also be on the move. The Miami Marlins open their season at loanDepot Park with games Friday, Saturday and Sunday, while the Miami Open tennis finals take place at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.
Officials are strongly advising residents to avoid driving in these areas if possible. Road closures around Biscayne Boulevard and downtown will be significant throughout the weekend.
Public transportation is the best option. Metrorail, Metromover, Brightline and Tri-Rail can help bypass congestion downtown. For Miami Beach, water taxis and free trolleys are recommended alternatives to driving.
In short, expect heavy delays across South Florida. If you must travel, plan ahead, allow extra time, and consider avoiding peak hours altogether.
