A traffic accident caused major delays Sunday after a stretch of Interstate 75 northbound was shut down in Miramar.
The crash occurred near Miramar Parkway, prompting emergency crews to close the affected lanes while responding to the scene. Images from the area showed traffic backed up for an extended period as vehicles came to a standstill.
Authorities did not immediately release details about injuries or the cause of the crash. Drivers were urged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes while crews worked to clear the scene and reopen the roadway.
Traffic was eventually expected to resume once emergency responders completed their investigation and cleanup.
