Adam Bair, a high-profile Miami attorney known for representing sexual assault victims, has been charged with rape and false imprisonment. According to police, Bair lured a 24-year-old woman to his apartment under false pretenses, then assaulted her after she repeatedly said no.
Bair allegedly blocked her from leaving, telling her, “You cannot leave. I need you to stay.”
In court, Bair claimed innocence and said he was himself a childhood abuse victim. The judge found probable cause and issued a no-contact order with the victim. Prosecutors argued Bair ignored clear consent boundaries. “No means no,” said the judge.
