Jellisa Baxter, 24, faces a second-degree murder charge for the December 27th stabbing death of her 3-year-old daughter in North Miami Beach. Baxter initially faced a first-degree murder charge.
Police responded to Baxter’s apartment after receiving a chilling 911 call where she confessed to the crime. Detectives found the child with fatal stab wounds and a knife at the scene.
Baxter, who was unemployed and facing eviction, remains in custody without bond.
