HIALEAH, Fla. (WSVN) – Hialeah Senior High School was placed on lockdown Monday morning following reports of a bomb threat and the possibility of a gun on campus. Hialeah Police responded swiftly to the school, located at 251 E. 47th St., bringing in a heavy police presence, including four K-9 units.

The threat was initially deemed credible, prompting officers to search the campus. However, after a thorough investigation, officials later confirmed the bomb threat was a hoax.

Parents who arrived at the scene were informed that the school had been secured and were told they could return home. By 5 p.m., the lockdown was officially lifted, and the situation was declared safe.

Hialeah Police, in collaboration with Miami-Dade County Schools Police, is continuing to investigate the origin of the false threat.
