A shooting outside a Florida City apartment complex on Saturday night left a 9-year-old boy dead, according to Miami-Dade police. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. at Southpoint Crossing Apartments on Lucy Street. Police responded to reports of gunfire and found the boy, who had been with a group outside when the shooting started. He was airlifted to HCA Florida Kendall Regional by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue but did not survive. Authorities have not disclosed details about the motive or circumstances leading up to the shooting.
