31,000 Pills Hidden in Trunk: I-95 Drug Bust Nets Hungarian National

A routine speeding stop on Interstate 95 in Martin County turned into a major drug bust when deputies discovered more than 31,000 illegal pills concealed in a driver’s trunk. Zolton Otto Ganoczi, 36, was visibly impaired at the time of the stop — sweating profusely, speaking rapidly, and showing dilated pupils. He later admitted to using methamphetamine and psilocybin mushroom gummies earlier that day.

Deputies found a baggie of suspected meth on the door panel, but the bigger discovery came from the trunk: thousands of pills packed inside mail envelopes, including substances marketed as Ambien, Rivotril, and drugs associated with Xanax, Klonopin, and diazepam. Ganoczi told deputies he was “just doing his job” making deliveries and acknowledged he had already completed several drop-offs. His license was suspended in both New York and Florida.

Ganoczi faces multiple charges including possession with intent to distribute, DUI, and driving on a suspended license. Authorities also determined he was in the country illegally from Hungary, and an ICE detainer has been placed on him.
